Every pattern in this collection starts with real flowers, photographed one bloom at a time, then digitally cut from their backgrounds and rebuilt into something new. Individual daisies, roses, and sprays of astilbe are cropped, cleaned, and pieced together on the computer, then mirrored and repeated into kaleidoscope medallions, dense floral tiles, and damask-style garlands. The technique keeps the photographic realism of each petal and center intact, but reassembles it into patterns that no camera could capture in a single frame — part photography, part paper-cutting, part mandala.
Because the resulting patterns lean more geometric and decorative than any one flower, this volume reads as pleasantly trans-generational — the kind of print a grandmother would recognize from a favorite tablecloth and a younger shopper would pick up because it looks good on a phone case.
