Cricut machines are electronic, software-driven cutters built around their own proprietary ecosystem, which is a different animal from the hand-crank die-press machines this page covers. What's below are manual die cutting and embossing machines: cardstock, dies, and embossing folders run through by hand, no app or subscription required. I am not listing the cutting plates ore accessories at the momement.
Crafter's Companion Gemini Junior Die Cutting & Embossing Machine - I don't own this one myself, but it's a well-established option if you're comparing machines beyond Cricut. Crafter's Companion has built a real accessory ecosystem around the Gemini line — dies, embossing folders, and extended cutting plates — so you're not left stranded if a specific model gets phased out. It runs on a 9" x 6" cutting platform with pause, resume, and reverse controls, useful if you need to stop mid-cut and double-check placement.

Also not one I own, but Spellbinders has plenty of history in this space to trust for replacement parts and plates down the line. The Platinum 6 runs on Spellbinders' Universal Plate System, built so new dies and folders keep working with it as their lineup grows rather than locking you into one generation of parts.
