Long before AI ever entered the picture, this collection began as a set of hand-drawn coloring pages. Between 2017 and 2020, each design started as a simple pencil sketch, built letter by letter and flourish by flourish until the words themselves became the artwork. Every piece was inked by hand and finished with the kind of ornamental detail found in old-world lettering — scrollwork, mandalas, star wreaths, and gothic blackletter — all created the traditional way, with nothing but a steady hand and a lot of patience.
The seven designs in this volume — No, Yes, Maybe, Think Happy Thoughts, It's Not Me It's You, Meow, and Rampant — grew out of that same coloring-page tradition, but were reimagined as bold, standalone text art. Each one plays with a different lettering style suited to its mood, from the flowing script of "Yes" and "Maybe" to the sharp-edged gothic feel of "Meow" and "Rampant," proving that a single word or short phrase can carry as much personality as any full illustration.
These designs translate beautifully onto everyday items, whether you're looking to make a statement or just add a little personality to what you carry.
