Each design in this collection began as a hand-drawn line drawing before being brought to life digitally. Every fish and every piece of vegetation started with pencil and paper, then was refined and colored on the computer — with two notable exceptions: the blue koi and the neighboring yellow fish were rendered in colored pencil, and the lone trout was created in charcoal. Only the marbles and sand in the goldfish tank scene skipped the hand-drawn stage entirely.
This collection moves fluidly between styles and moods, from the soft, dreamlike goldfish tank scene to the bold, tattoo-inspired koi with their sweeping fins and cherry blossom accents.
